Jo had a classical training on the clarinet by the eminent author and professor of clarinet Pamela Weston. It is only in more recent times that she has turned to the saxophone and moved away from classical to modern music and jazz. Jo was the inspiration behind Retroactive and she continues to manage the band to this day.
