Lucy studied singing at the Royal Northern College and subsequently at Middlesex University. She is equally at home in any number of musical genres. She played the role of Mary in Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along at London’s Mermaid Theatre. She has performed as a jazz and lounge singer around the world on a variety of high class cruise ships, and during her time in London hosted her own folk and acoustic night. She is also a member of 3's Company, a three-girl cabaret group specialising in performing Sondheim works.
